Oh, that was a really nice send-off for Baji.

It’s really such a shame that there was no solution or alternative to stop the fighting without him dying.

I mean I’m sure he could have thought of something, but maybe Baji truly believed sacrificing his life for his friends would be the wakeup call they needed.

Turns out, it was.

Mikey truly forgave Kazutora, and reminded the entire gang why they started Toman – to protect one another. In a weirdly poetic way, it’s kind of funny that Kazutora was the biggest threat when it came to Toman’s destruction, when he was the very reason they formed in the first place.

We also got a Black Dragons name drop – I can’t wait to see that arc animated next season. It’s where Takemitchy truly earned my respect as the main protagonist of this series. But speaking of main protagonist – Chifuyu’s protagonist energy is off the charts!

I swear, I felt like we were watching a new anime based on his delinquent character design alone.

Really glad he got rid of the pompadour, though…it seems only Akkun could pull that one off without looking goofy.

It’s not like Chifuyu’s delinquent character design didn’t look cool, but I was waiting for a shy girl in the book club to bump into him and embark on a shojo style romance together.

Plus, I think the shaggy two-tone mop top suits Chifuyu’s current laid-back personality.

Baji was pretending to be an unassuming nerd, and Chifuyu was pretending to be a tough-as-nails delinquent. So tough, he decided to ask the studious nerd why he got left back a year and found himself wrapped up in actual gang activity.

It’s nice Baji always wrote Kazutora in juvie.

Baji never stopped being his friend. He never stopped playing his role while simultaneously laying out a 12D chess board against Kisaki.

When we got a flashback of Baji punching Takemichi right after he hit Kisaki, I wonder if there was more to Baji’s smile now. Takemichi said the cliched “he was fighting all on his own” but maybe, just maybe Baji felt less alone during that time.

And then of course, Baji had to punch Takemitchy one or two good times to make sure he didn’t blow his cover. ☺

Man…this show is crazy.

Pah-chin is still locked up in juvie.

Kazutora is back in juvie and could do ten years.

Draken is telling Kazutora not to kill himself, when in an alternate reality Draken himself is locked up on death row for catching multiple bodies.

Meanwhile, Mikey forgave his childhood friend who he murdered in cold blood in a not too distant future.

Poor kids.

I do like how they threw in the Tokyo Manjiro Gang line though, so now people understand where the ‘manji’ 卍 symbol comes from in the title, and how it’s also in Mikey’s name.

Toman is basically “Mikey’s gang”, but even he forgot why it was really formed.

Anyway, I think I’ll end it here.

I love how all of them have motorcycles that take gas, but the Toman boys don't even have 500 yen to buy an omamori from the local shrine. The pigeon in the next frame might have been a bird-brain joke? haha ☺ Tokyo Revengers Episode 22

Why was Hanma shown on his phone again this episode before leaving?

If Kazutora killed himself, would it be the easy way out? Or a traditional Japanese sense of atonement a la samurai committing seppuku?

Did Takemichi really influence the future here?

I write in my personal time and I haven't published much at all. I don't know if that qualifies me as a writer or not, but I'd like to change that. I have a deep passion for travel, cinema and (mainly) East Asian things, but I plan on writing various things to keep it spicy. Let's prosper together ~ よろしくおねがいします。
