Netflix Unveils Main Trailer for Cosmic Princess Kaguya! Anime Film
Netflix just unveiled the main trailer for director Shingo Yamashita’s feature-length directorial debut, Cosmic Princess Kaguya!. The main trailer opens with Kaguya singing an original song composed by HoneyWorks called “Watashiha Watashinokotoga Suki” or “I like who I am”.


In the second half, audiences hear the film’s main theme composed by ryo (supercell) “Ex-Otogibanashi” (“Ex-Fairy Tale”) performed by Yachiyo, a songstress and the virtual world Tsukuyomi’s administrator.

The previously unveiled special teaser trailer for Cosmic Princess Kaguya! topped YouTube’s Trending Movie Trailers” chart in Japan and has already amassed over 15 million views as of November 28th. The film is set in the dreamlike virtual realm of Tsukuyomi, where music and emotion drive the story forward, and Cosmic Princess Kaguya! will feature songs from a lineup of celebrated Vocaloid producers like ryo (supercell), kz (livetune), 40mP, HoneyWorks, Aqu3ra, and yuigot.
Director Yamashita (known for his work on the opening sequences of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1, Chainsaw Man, and Urusei Yatsura ) masterfully blends this soundtrack with his signature dynamic visual style, creating harmonious, fluid cinematography that truly captures Tsukuyomi’s dazzling live stage.

This film will also mark the first title out of Yamashita’s Studio Chromato, which co-produced the anime with Studio Colorido, known for their work on Penguin Highway and Whisker Away.


Idol Dreams and Emotional Separations: Kaguya’s Journey in the Key Visual
The new anime movie key visual centers on characters Iroha (voiced by Anna Nagase) with her keyboard, and Kaguya (voiced by Yuko Natsuyoshi) with her microphone. Yachiyo (voiced by Saori Hayami) watches the pair from a rooftop above on the left, and a new character is revealed on the top right.

Kaguya proudly declares that she will livestream herself singing Iroha’s songs to become Tsukuyomi’s top idol. The image seeks to capture Tsukuyomi’s shimmering atmosphere and highlight Kaguya’s slightly tomboyish charm and her energetic personality as she and Iroha venture out to create music that will ultimately shape their own happy ending.
Flashes of live musical performances intertwine with action-packed sequences to leave a striking impression on fans – until the tonal shift in the final moments of the trailer, which hints at an emotional separation. Will people from the moon come to take Kaguya back home, and will she still reach her dream of becoming the top idol of Tsukuyomi?
