Sakamoto Days Anime Trailer with English Subs
Written and illustrated by Suzuki Yuto, Sakamoto Days is a popular manga currently serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since 2020. The new anime series Sakamoto Days will premiere on Netflix on January 11th, 2025 with a single episode released each week. Season 1 Part 2 will then debut in July, 2025.
The anime adaptation follows Sakamoto Taro, a once-unrivaled hitman who earned legendary status in the underworld. One day, Sakamoto fell in love – resulting in the former hitman growing fat in a peaceful life with his wife and daughter. Now working as a humble convenience store owner, Sakamoto cannot seem to escape the world of hitmen. Along with Shin – a young man with telepathy who is employed at Sakamoto’s small store, Sakamoto will protect his newfound humble life and family, or die trying.
The Japanese Voice Acting Cast Includes:
- Tomokazu Sugita as Taro Sakamoto
- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shin Asakura
- Ayane Sakura as Lu Shaotang
- Nao Toyama as Aoi Sakamoto
- Hina Kino as Hana Sakamoto
- Ryota Suzuki as Heisuke Mashimo
- Natsuki Hanae as Nagumo
- Taku Yashiro as Shishiba
- Saori Hayami as Osaragi
Sugita Tomokazu is a well-known voice actor notably known for his work as Sakata Gintoki in Gintama, and is currently voicing another character named “Taro” in the Fall 2024 anime Dandadan. TMS Entertainment (known for their work on Lupin the 3rd, Dr. Stone, and Baki) is set to produce the Sakamoto Days anime, with Masaki Watanabe taking charge as director. The series composition will be completed by Taku Kishimoto and the character design by Yo Moriyama.
