Kodansha House just revealed which three manga creators from Japan are visiting NYC this October for exclusive Q&A and book signings.
Kodansha House NYC is a pop-up event from the publishing giant dedicated to manga, anime, and where the two fandoms intersect.
Kodansha House 2025 Manga Creator Visit Reveals
Kodansha House first appeared in the fall of last year, offering fans an exclusive chance to meet and receive signed copies of beloved manga from creators who rarely travel outside of Japan. I signed up for their newsletter ages ago and when the manga creator lotto raffles went live in 2024, I ended up with the opportunity to meet Vinland Saga creator Makoto Yukimura and get my manga copy signed!
While waiting for my turn for the signing, I remember hearing chatter from Kodansha staff about how well-received the event was, and surveys were handed out to participants at the end to vote on whether or not the October event should be held again.
Luckily it is, and in addition to the events like movie nights, karaoke, speed friending, manga book club, trivia nights, the Attack on Titan exhibit along with two brand new ones, and the manga marketplace, they have decided to bring in three new manga creators from Japan!
Atsushi Ohkubo, author and illustrator of Fire Force will be in attendance.
Fujita, author and illustrator of Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku will be in attendance.
Suu Morishita, author and illustrator of A Sign of Affection will be in attendance.
The website also hints that more creators may be showing up and will be announced in time. The mangaka appear for two days, with one being dedicated to a book signing and a Q&A session, and the other day is simply a book signing.

There is even an event called “Mochikomi: fresh Ink” where you can submit your manga for a chance to get a live portfolio review from a Kodansha editor.
