In partnership with Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co., Ltd. (ShoPro), VIZ Media has unveiled the official teaser trailer and key art for Hirayasumi.
Where a House Becomes a Home: The Hirayasumi Anime Reveal
Based on the award-winning manga by Keigo Shinzo that has been serialized in Weekly Big Comic Spirits since 2021, the anime adaptation is set to debut in 2027. With an English-language debut through VIZ in May 2024, Hirayasumi has earned widespread critical acclaim with more than 1.5 million copies in circulation worldwide and has been the recipient of multiple industry honors, including the Shogakukan Manga Award.
Official Synopsis:
“At 29 years old, carefree Hiroto Ikuta doesn’t have a girlfriend, a full-time job, or a plan for the future—and he couldn’t be happier. Hiroto’s breezy attitude isn’t easy for everyone to understand, though. In a world filled with anxiety, confusion, and grief, Hiroto and the people around him are all just doing their best to figure out this thing called life.”
First Look: Analyzing the Teaser Visual and Promotional Video
An official teaser trailer has been released to introduce Hiroto, “a carefree 29-year-old with little concern for the future, standing outside the modest home he unexpectedly inherits after befriending his elderly neighbor”.

Accompanied by the series tagline “Where a house becomes a home,” the visual promo video captures the series’ overarching gentle tone of friends and neighbors each navigating their own struggles, while gathering around Hiroto and finding comfort in his easygoing presence.
