Anime NYC launches a dedicated space for families and a $15 kids ticket for 2026 convention.
Fandom for All Ages: The Anime NYC Family Zone Debut
Anime NYC has announced the launch of the Anime NYC Family Zone presented by Scholastic. As one of the fastest-growing conventions in the U.S., this new zone is designed to give children, parents, and caregivers a designated space to experience anime and manga together.
Anime NYC’s Family Zone presented by Scholastic will be open for all four days of the event, with Sunday featuring the strongest concentration of family content. A $15 kids ticket for Sunday will be offered in an effort to give families a lower cost way to explore the show during a convention day packed with family-friendly programming.
Sunday Funday: Programming for the Next Generation of Fans
“As our community grows, we want to make sure new fans can grow with us,” said MK Goodwin, VP at LeftField Media, the events company that organizes Anime NYC. “We’re committed to creating spaces where new generations can feel welcomed and inspired together with their families. Pairing that with our new $15 kids ticket on Sunday makes it easier than ever for families to try Anime NYC, find new stories, and leave with shared memories.”
The Family Zone is anchored by Scholastic and built to help kids and their caregivers start their manga journeys together, while giving longtime fans a welcoming place to bring in the next generation of fans. Hands on activies, age-appropriate panels, and interactive experiences featuring giveaways from leading publishers and community partners are on the roster for the Sunday kid-friendly activities agenda.
The Scholastic Partnership: Bringing Graphix Favorites to the Floor
“Scholastic is excited to be partnering with Anime NYC on the new Family Zone,” commented David Saylor, Senior Vice President & Publisher Graphix.
“The Family Zone will provide opportunities for children to get drawn into kid-friendly manga that’s made with kids in mind. Readers are hungry for captivating manga they will fall in love with, like the hilarious Captain Underpants: The First Epic Manga by Dav Pilkey and art by Motojiro, and the unforgettable UNICO: Awakening series by Samuel Sattin and Gurihiru. Scholastic/Graphix publishes the manga that will ignite a life-long love of reading!”
Breaking Barriers: The New $15 Sunday Kids Ticket
Anime NYC will take place August 20th – 23rd, 2026 at the Javits Center in NYC. Tickets, including the new $15 Sunday Kids Ticket for kids 11 and under, are available at the convention’s official website.
