A Quick Update

Just letting you all know what’s been going on with ‘dem reviews…

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to update you on the last three Shingeki no Kyojin reviews that got delayed.

Episode 20 is done, I just haven’t uploaded it yet. Episode 21 and 22 haven’t been started yet, hopefully I can knock all of these out tonight and be finished with it by tomorrow.

I originally got distracted between writing the review for 21 when I started re-reading the manga. I stumbled upon some really cool theories I wanted to somehow incorporate into the reviews, and kept delaying it as I consolidated information.

Then, (because I am often scatterbrained) I decided to work on my other website and start the re-read of a manhwa that I will be talking about on this site soon.

Furthermore… I decided to type a few handwritten articles from a notebook of ideas and store them on the computer in anticipation for a more streamlined content prep.

I watched a few (bad) TV shows on Netflix (like You, which is completely deplorable) and attended some real-life fun events for the summer.

About a week or so ago, a really bad wind storm appeared out of the clear blue sky (literally) and knocked down three trees in my backyard, and one giant limb in the front.

Ridiculous Storm Damage. The other side of the yard has the bigger fallen trunks.
Ridiculous Storm Damage. The other side of the yard has the bigger fallen trunks.

So suddenly, now the focus is cleaning up the yard and dealing with tree companies that are charging inflated prices because the demand skyrocketed after a phenomenon that only took at the very most three minutes to complete wreck everything.

It doesn’t help that my yard was originally cleared forest, and it completely upset the stability of the plant life – big or small.

I purchased a chainsaw today for prime day, in the hopes that my cousins will actually come breakdown the trees in the backyard so that:

  1. It will bring the tree company’s estimate price of $1,400 down to at least $600 if the backyard is debris free.
  2. With it gone, I can finally cut the grass and try to maintain whatever else is going wrong.

Thank you everyone for your patience, and those reviews will be up soon.

After those are up, again, I will be going back to my usual content. I already have a review of a certain Netflix show that got a lot of buzz when it came out ready, just needs to be proofread again. Then the next three weeks will be devoted to the manhwa I’m currently re-reading that I had been following since its inception.

If for some reason I’m not able to start the coverage of that series, I have one or two random articles to upload until it’s done. I also need to actually type a review for a really great Kdrama I watched on Netflix.

Either way, this summer is going to be busy for me – and I’m completely excited.

I wanted to attend Liberty City Anime Con in August (I went maybe two years ago and wanted to see how it’s changed) but with all of this tree nonsense I won’t be able to go.

So the next convention I attend will most likely be Anime NYC in November.

Which is fine, I just hope I have a better time this year than the last.

Any who, I’m getting my act together and those tardy reviews will be here by tomorrow at the latest.

Oh, and before I forget – I got a PO Box! So I can now create newsletters for the site! They will most likely be monthly, and I am still trying to figure out great incentives for email signups. I have one idea, but it is going to take a bit more time to set up.

I have the form as a pop-up, as for some reason vanilla WordPress enjoys being difficult and has to make every single thing convoluted and won’t allow me to replace Mailchimp’s service with their static sign up form on the sidebar.

Honestly, I have a much easier time in the Wild Wild West that is WordPress.org with my other website and I am so tempted to move this site over to my account there, but if something goes wrong in the transfer I’d have no clue how to fix it. Not to mention, the community building aspect of vanilla WP does have its perks.

But I’m going to end this here, as I’m going off into a tangent and I feel the urge to rant about vanilla’s senseless plugin paywall and other restrictions. Or how utterly useless Jetpack is.

Ugh. Okay. I am going to get to writing now. Thank you again everyone for always being so great! ☺

I write in my personal time and I haven't published much at all. I don't know if that qualifies me as a writer or not, but I'd like to change that. I have a deep passion for travel, cinema and (mainly) East Asian things, but I plan on writing various things to keep it spicy. Let's prosper together ~ よろしくおねがいします。
