Another hectic day with a fierce rainstorm raging tonight. I don’t want lightening to strike and put my poor laptop out of commission.
Not to mention, I am mildly depressed it’s actually storming. During the last bad storm we had, I asked my cousin to cut a thick slab of wood from a fallen tree for me. I’ve been drying it all summer, despite the humid weather we’ve had.
Maybe two weeks ago, I wasn’t home when it suddenly began to rain and the end grain slab got wet. Today, after the weather being so unpredictable for weeks, I didn’t cover the slab. I didn’t think it would even rain.
It’s been pouring for hours and I’m pretty sure at least two months of hard work is now utterly down the drain. I don’t even know if it’s salvagable now. Or worthy of being sanded down and turned into a kitchen cutting board.
I might have to rethink my strategy…
