Check out last week’s episode review here.
It’s pretty convenient that the Despair Genius Ereinus decided to attack now.
Especially since Minori and the kids are well-stocked on potions and just received a strategy book from the villain in glasses himself, Shiroe.
The plot convenience furthers when you consider that Akatsuki was the only one nice enough to lower her level beforehand to take the teaching gig seriously. Had her personality not been one who prepares early (or like Tetora’s), the kids really would have been done for.
So I guess, Akatsuki and the rest of the characters who hardly get any screen time are about to shine?
Which is cool.
I really enjoyed seeing the older players and former Debauchery Tea Party members shine in their almost nonverbal teamwork, though.
Really wish we had more of that.
Oh well.
It was also great that the useless Izumo sisters finally have a chance to redeem themselves!
I didn’t think I would ever feel bad for Litka and Lelia given all of the trouble they gave Tetora in past quests. Hearing that even made me relive terrible quests I’ve had to play through in games I love in real life.
I don’t think Tetora forgave them that easily, but it reminds me of a scene Shiroe had with Regan maybe a season ago. Regan had mentioned that Shiroe appeared in their history books as a sorcerer around a hundred or so years before the apocalypse occurred.
The fact that the useless sisters remembered those quests, realized they screwed up, and are seemingly trying to change their innate character traits makes me think that everyone really can unconsciously now change the world of Elder Tale.
Ereinus definitely can be defeated, and most likely will in the next episode.
Judging from the preview, it seems Shiroe, Naotsugu and the gang turn around at the exact moment Akatsuki and the kids free the Adventurers’ in the ‘Instance’ dimension.
Maybe it wasn’t a bad idea to have lower-level players stick around and participate in the smaller guilds, after all then?
Either way, I’m going to wrap it up here.

Do you think the kids arc this season is way better than season 2 so far? Will Minori show off her leadership skills and live up to being Shiroe’s protegee?
Will this Instance raid finally give Akatsuki the much-needed self-esteem boost she needs to realize that she is okay and an integral part of the Log Horizon guild?
