Yatora Gets Sick– Blue Period Ep 11 Review

Yatora’s body physically breaks down in a stairwell leading up to the second TUA exam. This is a review and discussion for Blue Period Episode 11 on Netflix.

Wow, so I think I was expecting too much of Takahashi during this entire series.

The fact that he just left Yatora hanging in the stairwell shocked me.

I mean really, you couldn’t at least pretend you wanted to help your rival/buddy with his art supplies? I understand needing to conserve energy, but why would you just stand there while someone you know is having a physical breakdown right in front of you?

Props to Kuwana for hulking those art supplies up 5+ floors, wishing Yatora well, and then sprinting over to her exam room.

I really am glad that during her conversation with Hashida, it was revealed Kuwana really does care about Yatora – even if he is technically “competition” on her journey of acceptance to TUA.

Why Takahashi couldn’t help out is beyond me.

(Right along with why Yatora envisioned Takahashi as Mori-senpai at first? Their hair cuts aren’t that similar, haha.☺)

I mean again I understand it’s in his personality not to know what to do, how to respond, or be too nervous to get involved – but why would you just stand there frozen in fear?

*sigh* anyway…

I’m wondering if Hashida actually has any intention of passing the exams? I kind of feel like he’s one of those people who showed up just “for the experience”, so to speak. He also enjoys viewing others’ artwork, so maybe that was his ultimate goal in taking the test?

Who knows.

Either way, I’m excited to see what the final episode has in store for us.

I know Yatora didn’t get a chance to do anything in his sketchbook, but is ‘nuking’ his artwork by pouring turpentine part of his strategy to tie into his final work?

Why do you think Takahashi didn’t help Yatora?

Does Kuwana have a heart of gold?

I write in my personal time and I haven't published much at all. I don't know if that qualifies me as a writer or not, but I'd like to change that. I have a deep passion for travel, cinema and (mainly) East Asian things, but I plan on writing various things to keep it spicy. Let's prosper together ~ よろしくおねがいします。
