Check out last week’s episode review.
I have to say, I absolutely loved this episode.
Truly, it was a delight to watch, and I didn’t want it to end.
So I’m going to go a bit out of order discussing the events we just witnessed, but from the top of my head onward:
Ichinose is Suspicious of Ayanokoji
Well, it finally happened.
Although Class B and Class D have an alliance and Ayanokoji was initially blended into the background, this special test for sure exposed him as the true mastermind of the island test to Ichinose. I knew Ichinose was smart, but hearing her admit that the stalled Mars Group discussions were actually a ruse and that she planned to do something similar to Ayanokoji the whole time was surprising, to say the least.

Between calling Ayanokoji during a crucial part of their plan, to then asking if “Horikita-san came up with it’ as well was just the icing on the cake of a beautiful play by both classes. I know the other classes don’t know about their alliance, but the fact that Class B seemingly ‘distrusted’ Class D first really sold the act.
After all, after a lie is exposed, people naturally grasp the next utterance as definitive truth.
Is Ayanokoji Using Kei?
Through their new arrangement, it does seem like Ayanokoji will start dating Kei, using her influence and status within Class D to control the girls and steer the class into a direction of his choosing.
Although Ayanokoji told Kei his goal is to strengthen Class D; it really seems like he just wants to win by any means necessary. Not only did Ayanokoji set up Kei to get beat up by Manabe and the other Class C girls, he exploited Kei at her weakest and manipulated her into forever being his servant.
Is Ayanokoji Using Horikita?

I know Classroom of the Elite season one ended with Ayanokoji monologuing that he never considered Horikita a friend, but the fact that he specifically targeted Kei because Horikita is useless in regards to sociability is a very calculating, but intelligent move to make.
Judging by those actions alone, it really highlights just how much Ayanokoji does not care about Suzune.
Ayanokoji intends to develop Horikita as a leader, but in order to lead she has to have some sort of likability amongst her fellow classmates. Even after continually being given credit for feats over Class D’s adversaries, Horikita never fails to ruin Ayanokoji’s plans for her by continuing to be unremarkable and underwhelming.
I’m really excited to get into the next episode, so I think I’ll end this one here.
But, tell me your thoughts.
Do you think Ichinose secretly made a deal with Ryuen?
Why did Yukimura go along with Ayanokoji’s plan?
And…what exactly is Kei’s backstory?
