Itsuomi and Yuki are Finally Together – A Sign of Affection Ep 6 Review

Itsuomi and Yuki officially become a couple before Itsuomi’s next overseas trip. Oushi asks Yuki’s mom for her daughter’s phone number, confusing Yuki in the process.

Man…Emma might as well pack it up and travel abroad for a while. Itsuomi said that he doesn’t see himself breaking up with Yuki anytime soon…and I 100% believe him.

A Sign of Affection Episode 6 Review

Not only that mind you, Itsuomi told Yuki that Emma sharing his (empty) apartment for the night will “never happen again” which for any guys who might be reading my post – is absolutely 100% the right answer, haha.

Nip the problem in the bud before it even has the potential to ruin the relationship.

Itsuomi respects Yuki and realizes that she is a very pure soul who like a clear glass, remains untainted by the world around her. The only funny thing though, is that Itsuomi assumes that is because Yuki hasn’t had harsh language thrown at her. Little does Itsuomi know that Yuki does have harsh language thrown at her; and it’s by her childhood friend Oushi, no less.

Oushi is a Childhood Friend and Part-Time Clown

Speaking of Oushi…let’s get this out of the way.

I know Yuki doesn’t really confide in her mother and honestly if she’s college age I don’t really expect her to – that’s why she has friends like Rin. Despite this, and her family not knowing sign language…I can’t help but feel like Yuki’s mom is severely out of touch with her daughter’s college life.

Which again…isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I think Yuki is what, 19? Her mom doesn’t need to know everything she does, especially when it comes to her first romantic relationship. However, you would think Yuki’s mom would notice that Yuki NEVER even mentions Oushi at all, or even has a pleasant face when he’s around?

Yuki’s mom thought it was an accomplishment that Oushi learned sign language and goes to school with Yuki (which in a Japanese context it kind of is – I’m not faulting the mom for that) but shouldn’t Yuki’s mom find it strange that her daughter’s “childhood friend” doesn’t even have her cell phone number?

And then when he gets Yuki’s number after imaging Yuki and Itsuomi together alone at Rin’s apartment…Oushi texts Yuki and Yuki doesn’t even know why he wanted her number? ☺️

The levels of comedy coming from the situation where Yuki literally does not understand why Oushi keeps showing up in her space just to get between her and Itsuomi, and to insult her in sign language – are insane.

Itsuomi and Yuki Become a Couple

Itsuomi has been practicing sign language and even looking for things Yuki didn’t teach him, apparently. And it is just….so damn romantic haha.

I don’t know if it mentioned last time where Itsuomi is going next but he’ll be gone for a month and hopefully, he’ll bring Yuki back some nice souvenirs that don’t look cursed this time. I’m glad Itsuomi told Yuki early before leaving how he felt, and I am slightly annoyed that earlier in the episode he asked Yuki if he could “fall for her” and she didn’t notice.

Almost as annoying as Yuki signing to Itsuomi that she loved him, and he didn’t notice because he was on the phone with Kyouya. Or, of course Yuki couldn’t hear Itsuomi calling her while walking up the stairs to Rin’s apartment, but thankfully he has a recognizable tattoo on his hand or otherwise, I would have thought Yuki was about to get mugged.

And you know what? While stopping the open door with your hand and approaching Yuki from behind is a little scary, it’s better than having tissues thrown at the back of her head in the dark like Oushi did a few episodes back.

I’m excited to see what’s next – so I’m gonna leave this one here. Tell me your thoughts – How do you feel about Itsuomi and Yuki finally becoming a couple? Are Kyouya and Rin next?
