Netflix has announced that the animated adaptation of the popular video game series Devil May Cry has been renewed for a second season.
Devil May Cry Renewed for Season 2
Devil May Cry season 1 debuted at #4 on the global top 10 list with a stunning 5.3 million views in only three days. It also reached the top 10 list in 87 countries and is scored at 95% by critics on the website Rotten Tomatoes.
The showrunner and executive producer from Capcom, Adi Shankar, has been working on the animated project since it was first announced in 2018. Shankar, alongside development partner Alex Larsen seek to make Devil May Cry “…one of the best shows on the Netflix platform – period.”
Shankar has also partnered with Studio Mir, known for their work on The Legend of Korra and The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
About Devil May Cry
Devil May Cry follows the story of Dante, an orphaned demon hunter always looking for work, despite being unaware of the role he plays in the fates of the human and demon realms.
The animated series is based on the long-running action-adventure video game series created by Hideki Kamiya and developed by Capcom. In the video games, Dante’s mission is to “kill all demons” after the death of his mother.
