Breaking Down the 41-Card Set: Rarities & Artistic Styles
The KPop Demon Hunters Collectible Trading Cards Special Mini Edition Series 1 has a total of 41 types of cards with 5 rarity tiers. The rarity tiers are as follows:
- Super Spark Rare (SSR, 15)
- Holo Rare (HR, 9)
- Legacy Rare (LR, 8)
- Special (SP, 6)
- Creative Rare (CR, 3)
Card Aesthetics: From Music Players to Anime Photocards
CR cards feature “Dazzling Moments” with the idol group Huntrix, SP cards are modeled to aesthetically resemble a music player, LR cards have character designs illustrated in the style of an “anime photocard” and HR cards act “…as a charm”, or are designed to resemble cute charms with a punched hole for display.

One carton of cards contains 8 boxes, and 1 box contains 36 packs of cards. Each individual card pack contains 3 cards. The regular cards are 3.43 inches x 2.44 inches, while the mini cards are 2.44 inches x 1.73 inches.

The SP “Rumi” card is textured, and when you turn it under the light, you can see glitter in her hair, lipstick, and eyebrows. HR “Derpy & Sussie” ‘moves’ using a lenticular motion effect within the card, with Derpy playing with a knocked-over plant pot and what looks like clouds passing overhead in the background as Sussie silently judges him.
I love Derpy, so the HR card was my favorite pull by default. Next time when I collect more cards from this series, I think I’ll try to pull the anime-inspired and stylized LR tier cards. Both idol groups’ illustrations look fun, and it makes me think of how much potential a KPop Demon Hunters anime spin-off series could have.
