Exactly how dangerous is this Antigonus family notebook?

Lord of the Mysteries Episode 3 Review

I know the Antigonus family is supposed to be this all-powerful, magical family that disappeared but maybe their bad magic is the source of their decline?

This episode we were introduced to a “Ray Bieber”, a supposed descendant of the family. He was so eager to “bring back” his family that he performed a bad – or rather, risky – ritual in a magical circle to merge with the notebook that ended up corrupting his body.

Because of the fusion, he turned into this grotesque homunculi and Dunn comments that it has a “dead soul”. So in other words, this cursed Antigonus family notebook snatched a descendant of its own family’s soul, effectively ‘killed’ it, and turned its host’s body into a grotesque monster…for what?

What exactly did the original Klein and his friends want with this spooky, cursed notebook anyway? (and did Professor Azik have anything to do with their deaths?)

The Secret Order

It was interesting to learn about another hidden organization outside of the Church of The Evernight Goddess. The title card screen said that The Secret Order is based on Solomon’s Empire and the fallen ones. Which of course, reminds me of King Solomon of the bible, the “fallen ones” most likely being the fallen angels he could command with his special ring.

The title card also stated that The Secret Order is the least active amongst the occult societies, only resurfacing to “track or secure something”. This organization seems a lot like the Knights Templar, who are now modern day offshoots for Freemasonry and The Red Cross.

Their organizational sigil also reminds me of the central magical sigil associated with Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

The Sequence 8 Seer Potion

Dunn’s strange reaction aside to Klein informing him that he knew the Sequence 8 formula for the Seer path, I wonder why it’s called Clown?

It’s kind of crazy that “the fool” from the circus Klein met his first day in that world would ultimately help him on his Divine Path. I can also kind of see parallels between Klein embodying “The Fool” path in tarot, only to “kill the Fool” in order to move up to the next level in his divine strength.

The artefact 2-049 also happened to be a wooden clown puppet created by the Antigonus family. I’m guessing they must have had every sequence in existence, since it seems like no coincidence The Secret Order sent a “Clown” to find another “Fool” who was ultimately used and betrayed by a wooden puppet.

Wow, that was wild. It also seems like Klein’s old professor Azik might be evil and know more than he let on about original Klein’s death and Zhou’s transmigration.

Oh well, I think I’ll leave this conversation for here now – but tell me your thoughts: Do you think there are surviving full-bloodline members of the Antigonus family living (or hiding) within the Horancis Mountain Range in the Nation of the Evernight?
