Netflix recently announced a brand new original adult animated comedy series from the mind of Ricky Gervais, the BAFTA award-winning actor known for his work on After Life, Extras, and The Office. Alley Cats will debut on Netflix in 2026.
Creator and Director Ricky Gervais on his character: “I play a fat, lazy, rude, opinionated creature with fangs, who’s not as smart or brave as he thinks he is. So quite a stretch.”
Alley Cats follows the trials and tribulations of a group of feral British cats who seek out companionship while pondering the struggles of their everyday lives. The 2D animation style in the show is being produced by the UK-based award-winning Blink Industries.
The cast for the animated comedy series boasts voice acting talents from: Ricky Gervais, Tom Basden, Andrew Brooke, David Earl, Kerry Godliman, Jo Hartley, Diane Morgan, Natalie Cassidy, and Tony Way.
With situations ranging from the funny to the downright absurd, the new animated slacker sitcom is chock-full of Gervais’ signature style of social commentary with heart that audiences have come to know and love.
