The critically acclaimed manga Fool Night (written by Kasumi Yasuda and currently serialized in Shogakukan Inc.’s Big Comic Superior) is officially getting an anime adaptation as a Netflix series. The manga has received praise both in Japan and internationally, ranking in Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023 and winning Best Suspense Manga at the Japan Expo Awards (Daruma Awards) 2023.
Fool Night marks the historic first-ever collaboration between two of Japan’s leading anime studios: SUNRISE (Cowboy Bebop, the Gundam series) and SHAFT (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, the Monogatari series).
Synopsis:
“Hurry up and turn me into a beautiful flower.
Transfloration – a technology that implants seeds into the bodies of those near death, transforming them into plants. It is the desperate measure humanity has chosen to ensure its survival.
