We’ve had so many special exams, I almost forgot the Advanced Nurturing School was an actual, physical location. It’s only been a day back and it seems Sakayanagi is not wasting time nor effort in her war against Class B’s Ichinose.

Sakayanagi Declares War on Ichinose

The advanced nurturing school students are back at the physical compound and as usual, it seems the B.S. never ends. I am aware that Sakayanagi wants to take down Ichinose to destabilize Class B, but it seems even Katsuragi is surprised by the length of Sakayanagi’s efforts.

I mean – Sakayanagi even went to Nagumo with her intentions to sabotage Ichinose, who is apparently an officer in the Student Council. But given that Nagumo had literally just finished a vanity speech about “his presence alone” being the Student Council, it makes sense that he would throw away Ichinose in an instance.

What doesn’t make sense here, is Sakayanagi’s long game.

Nagumo is a snake with a forked tongue and Sakayanagi usually works in the shadows to get her dirty deeds done. Why on earth would she be so blatant about spreading rumors about Ichinose (or orchestrating it – it’s most likely her lackey Kamuro spreading the rumors and that is why she was directed to approach Ayanokoji in order to fully rope in Class C and expose their classes’ alliances) when she knows Nagumo will double cross her in a second?

Why would they need the school to be involved? Is this to destroy Ichinose’s character and public image? Or, is this all a distraction for a bigger plan at play….especially considering Manabu said Nagumo and Class C’s snake Kushida have finally linked up…it’s like the situation with Ryuuen and Kushida during the special boat exam but this time on steroids if the power-hungry and egotistical Nagumo is involved.

Class B and Class C’s Eventual Rivalry

I know both classes are on good terms right now, but that is due to the leadership in each class having a symbiotic relationship. Although I highly doubt Ayanokoji wants to sacrifice Ichinose or see her get expelled (even if it’s for the sole reason of sparing Ichinose to thwart Sakayanagi’s plan) he is right that he shouldn’t get involved in Sakayanagi’s war against Ichinose.

Suzune (bless her heart) is not smart. Academically – yes, Horikita Suzune is brilliant but socially, she is still lacking. Sorely lacking, at that.

Ayanokoji told Suzune not to get involved with Ichinose’s war. Suzune…for whatever reason took a bath and decided to do exactly just that and called her over for tea with Ayanokoji. The meeting went about as well as Ayanokoji expected, and afterward Suzune had the audacity to believe that Class B and Class C could team up to take down Class A and Sakayanagi?

In any other situation Suzune would be right – the enemy of my enemy is a friend – but it’s not that type of game they are playing at that particular school. I mean…is there a reason Suzune’s social awareness skills are still on autopilot? Has she been paying attention this entire time?

Why else does she think everybody else is making alliances, backstabbing each other, and storing points when necessary so that they can switch to the winning side?

Manabu had a point bank as a safety net. Ichinose (despite her best intentions) does have a point bank as a safety net. Alongside many others (most notably probably Sakayanagi) to use at their disposal when the correct situation arises.

Although Class B and Class C are friends, only one class can make it to the top and graduate as winners. And Ayanokoji wants to win – he has made that clear numerous times through his internal dialogues.

You don’t get in the way when your enemies are fighting – I thought Suzune had learned that through her guidance by Ayanokoji…but apparently not.

Karuizawa and Hirata Break Up

This was a nonsense storyline anyway this episode since we know they were never really dating and “fake” broke up a long time ago on the ship…but can we give a round of applause to Ayanokoji for crafting this whole storyline of how Hirata might be feeling to Mei Yu?

Kiyotaka is a complete BS artist, through and through ☺.

But, tell me your thoughts.

What do you think about all of the plays being made in this episode? Is Sakayanagi going after Yamauchi as well?
