Crunchyroll Announces New Licensed Anime You Can’t Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends!

The anime series You Can’t Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends! has been acquired by Crunchyroll and is set to premiere episode one at New York Comic Con. The series is animated by Tezuka Productions and is set to stream in territories worldwide excluding Asia coming 2026.

Based on the original manga series created by Shinya Misu, You Can’t Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends! follows high school student Eeyuu who has a problem: his two childhood friends and schoolmates Shio and Akari are just too cute!

You Can't Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends JP teaser

Eeyuu would be mortified if they found out he viewed them differently than a friend. On the other hand…what if the pair of childhood friends have their own secrets? It’s complicated, tantalizing – but childhood friends are the best and this show promises to be a ” sweet, impatient, and twisted love triangle romantic comedy”.
