Let’s check out two packs of Kayou’s tokidoki Wonder Voyage Series 1 Roaming Edition Collectible Cards!
Thank you to Kayou for sending me two collectible packs to open!
A New Chapter in Collecting: From 90s Pokémon to Kayou’s tokidoki
I have such a weird history with trading and collectible cards. Back in the day in the 90s (and elementary, middle, and high school, really -) I used to collect Pokémon cards, like everybody else.
After a very vivid memory of trading my holographic Vaporeon for a useless card to my cousin in a split decision I still regret to this day, I then simply collected cards to leave in a white protective binder in an old bookcase.
My mom knew I liked watching Yu-Gi-Oh! (the awful 4Kids dub), and brought me a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards one Christmas, where I acquired a few rare ones (like a coveted Blue-Eyes White Dragon card).
Unfortunately, I don’t think I have this binder filled with priceless, memorable cards protected for decades after the house fire last March, but I am excited to have new cards now to collect. Alongside my newfound joy in collecting enamel pins at conventions and events, I’m hoping interesting and striking nostalgic things like this can become the basis of my new collection.
Back in the ’90s, we were all just kids trading cards on the playground, never dreaming they would one day become record-breaking assets. While I’m still mourning that holographic Vaporeon, the market has clearly evolved into something legendary—like we saw in The $16.5M Pikachu: Logan Paul’s Illustrator Card Shatters World Records at Goldin’s 2026 Auction.
Just like Naruto, tokidoki is a brand I’ve always enjoyed. I remember first seeing it quite some time ago (like 10+ years ago) in U.S.-based Japanese stores I was frequenting while attending college in the city. I couldn’t really find much merch after a certain point for some reason, so opening these cards and seeing the character designs again was quite nostalgic.
Unboxing the tokidoki Wonder Voyage: Yellow vs. Green Packs
I received a yellow tokidoki Wonder Voyage pack that has Spring as the “original station” and Winter as the “terminal station”. Given the increase in quality of trading cards nowadays, starting a collection from scratch in 2026 feels different than it did in elementary school.

I saw eye-catching cards like those within this pack during my conversation with Kayou’s GM Sergio at their NYCC booth. Explore how they’re changing the game in The Next Big Player? An Interview with Kayou on their US Trading Card Market Expansion.
The green tokidoki pack also features cute cards, with trading cards from both packs having phrases like “oishii” (“delicious”), “stay sweet”, and “try something new” amongst encouraging mantras.

The Pulls: Roamday SSRs, Sweet SRs, and the “Oishii” Mantra
In the yellow pack, I received:

- 1 TR overlay palette Card
- 3 sweet R Cards with Lumi, Arancio, and Seasons
- 2 SR Cards filled with cakes, candy, and other treat designs of Ruby!! And Palette!!
- 2 SSR Cards with ornate, holographic Roamday designs for Music Day Sandy, and Li Long Ji Culture Day.
The Roamday Cards uniquely have “tokidoki” on the back with a stylized cityscape of the character’s world. All of these cards were designed by tokidoki co-founder and artist, Simone Legno.
For the green tokidoki Wonder Voyage Collectible Card pack, I received:

- 1 “snoopkitty” TR Card
- 3 R Cards for Strawberry Milk (Moofia), Mooka (Unicorno), and Donutella (Donutella)
- 2 SR Cards for cute Unicorno Dolce!! And Sandy!! With a donut UFO and cute homes, flowers, and candy-filled landscape designs with the word “oishii!!” written on the back
- 2 SSR Roamday Cards for Megalocorno Hotpot Day Card, and a Beach Day Shaka Card.
The Roamday Cards again have the tokidoki cityscape on the back.
According to the TCG package, both of my packs had the production ratio of 18:24, or ¾ appearance probability for 24 packs per box with 8 cards per pack.

Not the rarest of the bunch, but I thoroughly enjoyed the cards I received, and would definitely pick up another pack in this series to try my odds at collecting different rarities in the series.
