Takemichi Breaks Hina’s Heart – Tokyo Revengers S2 Ep 4 & 5 Review

Takemichi reluctantly breaks up with Hina at her father’s request. Kisaki, Hanma, and Chifuyu all prepare to fight Taiju on Christmas Day.

Takemichi broke up with Hina as he had done in the future, finally now understanding why. Although, we all know it won’t change her fate at the hands of Kisaki in future timelines.

Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 4 Review

Takemichi has been time leaping for a while now but still seems to underestimate the gravity of his current situation.

Hakkai Still Wants to Kill Taiju

I’m gonna be real with you – I already read the Black Dragon Arc in the manga and Takemitchy’s stupidity still has ways of surprising me.

I bet Shiba Taiju is literally laughing at the very notion of his little brother Hakkai killing him

Why on earth did it take Chifuyu – who just found out about time travel and listened to Takemichi’s story last night basically – to remind Takemitchy that he is in jail in his current timeline and would not be able to shake Naoto’s hand while incarcerated?

When Chifuyu asked Takemichi if he was really 26 years old I had to wonder to myself too because wow, is he slow on the uptake.

Even with multiple timelines already traversed, Takemichi is still surprised at the simplest things. I can’t believe he even made a surprised Pikachu face when Chifuyu pointed out that just because Mitsuya isn’t letting Hakkai leave Toman for Black Dragon doesn’t necessarily mean Taiju still won’t die.

I hope Mikey and Mitsuya were paying attention to Yuzuha’s demeanor when they discussed “saving her” from Taiju. That essentially told the whole story of what’s really been going on with the Shiba siblings right there.

Kisaki Wants to Help Chifuyu and Takemitchy

Did anybody else laugh at Kisaki having the audacity to ask Chifuyu and Takemichi to team up?

I love how onboard Chifuyu is with not trusting Kisaki for anything
I love how onboard Chifuyu is with not trusting Kisaki for anything

The way Chifuyu looked like he wanted to punch Kisaki out right then and there knowing that 12 years in the future Kisaki would kill him was priceless. I guess around this time in the past is when Kisaki started plotting against Mikey since he openly called him weak in front of Takemichi and Chifuyu.

This then triggered Chifuyu to break a glass bottle and point it at Kisaki, and his lackey Hanma in turn pulled a blade on Takemitchy….all on a school night at Denny’s.

You know, is Kisaki really a master manipulator or is everybody else in Toman just an idiot that he’s weaseling his way further into controlling the gang?

Especially since Takemitchy didn’t even realize Hakkai – the boy deathly afraid of his violent older brother – would only attack him while he was alone.

Well, let’s see what happens leading up to Christmas Day.

Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 5 Review

Aww, this episode made me a little sad for Hina. Takemichi already knows the outcome that despite breaking up with her, she still always dies in each timeline. Maybe he needs to examine his connection to Kisaki to understand why he kills her each and every time.

Why Did Kisaki Call Takemichi Hero?

Apparently the man wearing blue to the left of Takemichi is Mikey's older brother Shinichiro watching Takemichi save Hina from the bullies
Apparently, the man wearing blue to the left of Takemichi is Mikey’s older brother Shinichiro watching Takemichi save Hina from the bullies

We learn that Kisaki called Takemichi his hero before shooting him last season because he saw Takemichi save Hina from bullies when they were kids. Well, they are still kids but when they were in elementary school, at least.

It’s not a stretch to say that Kisaki has most likely always resented Takemichi in a way since even in alternate timelines, Hina remained in love with Takemichi.

Why Did Takemichi Break Up with Hina?

It’s sad that Hina and Naoto’s dad is never around and once he does show up, he forced Takemichi to break up with his daughter. I understand that he’s a police officer and just wants what’s best for her, but I feel like her dad would be the type of person who would support Hina with somebody like Kisaki just because he looks good on paper.

When in reality, it seems Kisaki was always destined to walk a dark path. He was even weird as an elementary student in cram school but Hina never noticed because she’s just so nice.

Man, I think I’ll leave this review here. But, tell me your thoughts –

It seems like Tetta Kisaki was always destined to walk a dark path...
It seems like Tetta Kisaki was always destined to walk a dark path…

Why do you think Kisaki was always such a creep?

Is Kisaki obsessed with Hina?

And…

Do you think Takemichi’s younger self realized he needed to save Hina one day but didn’t know why, so he dressed up in a cape and waited for her to pass by?

I write in my personal time and I haven't published much at all. I don't know if that qualifies me as a writer or not, but I'd like to change that. I have a deep passion for travel, cinema and (mainly) East Asian things, but I plan on writing various things to keep it spicy. Let's prosper together ~ よろしくおねがいします。
