Check out my review of SnK Chapter 137 here.
I’m calling it now. The final chapter for the Attack on Titan series will either be called “waking up” or “a return to reality”.
Something along those lines.
Hmm I don’t know how I feel about this. But I do know that I strongly believe that none of this is real.
No way in hell Ymir just shows up after Mikasa defeats the final boss and smiles like she’s ready to give her the final prize: a trip back home.
To her REAL home.
Eren legit either unlocked one of Mikasa’s memories, or used the PATHs power (without the founder) to take Mikasa to what seems to be a parallel universe. It was a different option – where Mikasa answered honestly when Eren asked her about her feelings in Marley.
I guess she told him that they should run away together, and they did. Then two months passed, and Armin was looking for them. Marley had just defeated the Mid-Eastern forces, and episodes 1 and 2 of the season 4 anime would have happened with the Warrior Canidates returning home to Liberio.
Only, Eren doesn’t ambush them, and Historia is just bred out by the military and their influences.
Eren is guilty, and then tells Mikasa to please let go of the scarf (and him) to move on with her life after he’s gone. Mikasa refuses, and snaps back into reality.
Making a plan with Levi, the two go for Eren.
Mikasa sees Eren again with the titan marks on his face, which could literally symbolize that he told Mikasa where his body was so that she could end it. Or, on the flip side…Ymir messed with Mikasa’s memories and Eren already knew this would happen because of his dream way back in chapter 1.
That’s why he gave her such a sad smile, like “you found me”.
Mikasa refuses to let go of him, and in her own way ‘saves’ this current Eren from his harsh reality.
Then Ymir shows up because they did what she wanted, and Ymir goes to teleport them back to their real world. Their home together outside of all of this nonsense.
I don’t know.
I mean, I’m still referencing the AnR theory and Parallel Universe theory.
Especially the latter – since in the extras Jean, Connie, Historia and Mikasa were all shown to be transformed into titans.
Plus, Jean and Connie looked like zombies in their transformed titan form here in the manga. The same as in the Attack on School Castes shorts and fake volume previews, where Eren wishes for a zombie apocalypse because he was board.
“Attack of the Zombie Caste”
Then when shit is hitting the proverbial fan Ymir shows up and lends a hand.
She even looks like she was drawn the same way as back then.
If it’s not though, and I’m just spouting bullshit it’s pretty sad the way Connie went out.
He experienced the same things his family did in Ragako Village just before they died.
Also, I’m not going to lie – I found it delicious that Annie’s father was transformed into a titan or died right in front of her eyes as they went to embrace.
Same as Pieck’s beloved father, and Reiner’s useless mother.
Finally, some consequences for those in Marley.
Absolutely beautiful.
Didn’t think we’d get to see Annie suffer any consequences with the series ending next chapter.
But then again, maybe this is all a dream.
A really long…long…dream. Like, 139 chapters worth. Haha.
Anyway, I’m wrapping up this chapter review.
Before I go – there was this one panel of Mikasa and Eren and he had the hood on like he did when he went to see Historia in the stables.
Was it implied that Mikasa stopped Eren from impregnating Historia? His hair is short and seems to be around the right height for during that time period.
Or, was this just them running away together at the stables? Or…did they even go back to Paradis or stay somewhere in the forests of Marley?
Anyway, tell me your thoughts as we near the ending of Attack on Titan.
(Look up the official cover art for the “My War” 僕の戦争 – Boku no Sensō season 4 opening with Ymir in a helmet)
Did Eren Yeager really pull a Lelouch at the last second? Are Eren and Mikasa together in an alternate reality? Why did Eren and Mikasa kiss if they always denied their feelings for one another?
(Do you feel anything for Gabi’s death? Because I feel absolutely nothing. Just kept scrolling, honestly…)
Leave your thoughts in the comment section below, I’d love to hear from you! Also be sure to follow us for weekly Attack on Titan the Final Season anime episode reviews!

Do you think Mikasa being a Ackerman has anything to do with this? They can’t be mind controlled so Ymir had to do something bigger.

Oh that’s right! I forgot about that. Then I don’t know…maybe it really is a parallel universe/alternate reality where she and Eren spoke…
