Eren Yeager and Hallucigenia in Attack on Titan

Eren Yeager and Ymir Fritz both gained their founding titan power from Hallucigenia Sparsa. Does Eren have better control over the spinal creature?

Eren Yeager has used hallucigenia sparsa to regenerate his body and possibly traverse alternate timelines with its power PATHs.

These are just a few merged images I had lying around of both the Hallucigenia spinal creature and panels from the Attack on Titan manga series after creating the initial Anime Anthology entry.

Please beware major plot spoilers.

This is just a quick bonus post associated with the original Anime Anthology entry on Hallucigenia Sparsa.

If you have not already done so, please read Hallucigenia – the Primordial Spinal Creature from Attack on Titan.

Eren Yeager’s Founding Titan Powers

A parallel of Hallucigenia and Eren’s founding titan forming from chapter 123 of the Shingeki no Kyojin manga.

There was also the scientific error of a fluid being mistaken for a part of Hallucigenia’s body. I theorized in the original Anime Anthology post that this could be the basis of the ‘spinal fluid’ necessity for tian powers.

For our last similarity of the post: a somewhat weaker image of the spinal transformation in the Season 4 opening combined with a fossilized Hallucigenia.

Maybe this angle works better?

The little tail end of the fossil could be Eren’s stubby legs.

I’m not sure.

And…that’s about it for now.

I know that there are probably many more parallels, but I found these specific panels to be the most striking during my preliminary research.

Can you think of any other parallels or manga panels that might fit with current images available of Hallucigenia Sparsa?

Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below, I’d love to hear from you! Also be sure to follow us for more Attack on Titan Theories!

Until next time ~

I write in my personal time and I haven't published much at all. I don't know if that qualifies me as a writer or not, but I'd like to change that. I have a deep passion for travel, cinema and (mainly) East Asian things, but I plan on writing various things to keep it spicy. Let's prosper together ~ よろしくおねがいします。
