Let me start off by saying that I loved this episode, even if it could have been split into two. It wasn’t necessarily rushed, rather I felt like there was more story to tell. I’ve read that the actual manga series was left unfinished and open-ended, so I should be grateful at least for this decent ending.
The things fell in place as need be, but I have one gripe about the ending: Tahomaru.

I don’t know what to say. Especially since the last demon to exterminate seems to be m’boy Tahomaru, whose image is now inheriting the oni end card. It makes me really sad, that this is what it has come to.

Okay, now I am convinced that the demons are simply trolling Lord Daigo and his lands at this point. I’m not sure if my theory was true regarding the twelfth demon eating Hyakkimaru’s eyes from the recent chimera kill, but they were available to be given to Tahomaru this episode. In addition to Hyakkimaru’s remaining limbs going to the siblings Mutsu and Hyogo.

Welp, any hope that we’d get a happy ending died along with that griffin-like creature. I just knew last week’s episode was a little too happy. Hyakkimaru was just a little too hopeful. The character growth was just a little too fast.

I enjoyed this episode, despite it almost qualifying as filler. It felt like the calm before a storm, with Dororo suffering a bit as usual to balance out the light-hearted atmosphere.
Or at least, I believe that is what they were trying to convey.
